Christmas. Part-Two.

Keeping Focused.

The centre of Christmas is not Santa, Snowmen, Teddy bears or any other ideas and concepts. It is the birth of the baby Jesus, the Son of God. Mary and Joseph were the earthly parents of God in the flesh of a human. Jesus was born into Mary without her having sexual relations with a man.

That is the natural order of life with humans, instead the bible tells us that the Holt Spirit hovered over her and that is how the egg in her womb was fertilized. Many people find this hard to believe and yet today we have artificial insemination, first for animals and now all over the world for couples who find it hard to concieve.

Jesus was like all babies, in his actions of crying, wetting ect. But still he was perfect, the only perfect baby ever.

Luke 1:30-38,  1:35.

Christmas.Part-One.

Hype and Advertizing.

For many people the Christmas season has started and we see are TV screens full of high powered and emotional advertising, promting us to buy generally food. But how many people today in Britain have any real knowledge of what Christmas is really about?

Many who go to Church and may even say ‘that they are believers, refuse to believe in the miracles of the Virgin birth of Jesus and the Star, appearing Angels. it has become a sort of dolly mixture of reallity and myth to them. the reason for this is that many people have and are allowing rationalism to influence their faith.

It is very similair to Satan descieving Eve in the Garden of Eden, by saying to her ‘You will not die!  We so need to believe and not allow anything to take away from us the facts of our faith and the truth of the bible applied everday in our lives.   Genesis 3:4,   2Corinthians 11:3,   Ephesians 6:11-13,   Titus 1:9.

GM. How do we know? Part-Two.

Adding In.

I am sure that you have noticed over the last few months the adding in of new foods, types of new fruits replacing something that already exists. i will take two fruits that are newer on our supermarket shelves ‘passion fruits and persimmns.

If you look closely at the fruits from the outside they are different from what you would expect to see.  When you open them up, the persimmon has no seeds. That is a dead give away that it is genetically modified. These two fruits and perhaps many others generally suffer from a short shelf life span, but they now will last much longer.

The problem with GM is that we do not really know what the long term effects will be on the human body. Another question is it alright to not worry what the masses are eating, as long as those of a certain status do not?

Genesis 1:11,   Job 4:8,    Psalm 126:5-6,    Eccliasiastes 11:6,   Isaiah 55:10,   Matthew 13:25,   1 Corinthians 15:37,    Revelation 8:7.

GM, How do we know? Part-One.

What are we eating?

Some years ago GM came to be serious matter that concerned many people around the world. Monsanto seems to be the main source of suspicion in relation to genetically modified foods. They have the market, yet very few people really know or understand what most of our food is made up of.

The problems with food is that there is not enough of it to go around the world. It also costs a lot of money to grow and harvest and relies on the weather to produce high yields.

The answers to food management  are found in the bible, we as believers working in any aspect of farming or wholesale, really need to be wise in planning ahead as Joseph.  Genesis 41,  John 15:1-10.

War. Part-Three.

Human Nature.

People cannot help anger and hateing each other, they find excuses to start a row over nothing. on a domestic scale this can become bad enough, but on larger global scale it will lead to war and conflicts. A third party can help to resolve any situation, but then the hardness of our stubborness sets in to block off the mediation.

Wars are caused by the inherent Sin and selfishness of the human heart a condition that does not even leave those who have faith in God. But to have faith in God and a personal relationship does help us to see our own faults and ask the lord to help us, intead of ignoring or denying in the first place.

Genesis 6:5,  Deuteronomy 29:19,  Proverbs 6:17-19,  Matthew 15:18-19,  Mark 7:21-23.
