Christmas. Part-Two.

Keeping Focused.

The centre of Christmas is not Santa, Snowmen, Teddy bears or any other ideas and concepts. It is the birth of the baby Jesus, the Son of God. Mary and Joseph were the earthly parents of God in the flesh of a human. Jesus was born into Mary without her having sexual relations with a man.

That is the natural order of life with humans, instead the bible tells us that the Holt Spirit hovered over her and that is how the egg in her womb was fertilized. Many people find this hard to believe and yet today we have artificial insemination, first for animals and now all over the world for couples who find it hard to concieve.

Jesus was like all babies, in his actions of crying, wetting ect. But still he was perfect, the only perfect baby ever.

Luke 1:30-38,  1:35.

Christmas.Part-One.

Hype and Advertizing.

For many people the Christmas season has started and we see are TV screens full of high powered and emotional advertising, promting us to buy generally food. But how many people today in Britain have any real knowledge of what Christmas is really about?

Many who go to Church and may even say ‘that they are believers, refuse to believe in the miracles of the Virgin birth of Jesus and the Star, appearing Angels. it has become a sort of dolly mixture of reallity and myth to them. the reason for this is that many people have and are allowing rationalism to influence their faith.

It is very similair to Satan descieving Eve in the Garden of Eden, by saying to her ‘You will not die!  We so need to believe and not allow anything to take away from us the facts of our faith and the truth of the bible applied everday in our lives.   Genesis 3:4,   2Corinthians 11:3,   Ephesians 6:11-13,   Titus 1:9.

GM. How do we know? Part-Two.

Adding In.

I am sure that you have noticed over the last few months the adding in of new foods, types of new fruits replacing something that already exists. i will take two fruits that are newer on our supermarket shelves ‘passion fruits and persimmns.

If you look closely at the fruits from the outside they are different from what you would expect to see.  When you open them up, the persimmon has no seeds. That is a dead give away that it is genetically modified. These two fruits and perhaps many others generally suffer from a short shelf life span, but they now will last much longer.

The problem with GM is that we do not really know what the long term effects will be on the human body. Another question is it alright to not worry what the masses are eating, as long as those of a certain status do not?

Genesis 1:11,   Job 4:8,    Psalm 126:5-6,    Eccliasiastes 11:6,   Isaiah 55:10,   Matthew 13:25,   1 Corinthians 15:37,    Revelation 8:7.

GM, How do we know? Part-One.

What are we eating?

Some years ago GM came to be serious matter that concerned many people around the world. Monsanto seems to be the main source of suspicion in relation to genetically modified foods. They have the market, yet very few people really know or understand what most of our food is made up of.

The problems with food is that there is not enough of it to go around the world. It also costs a lot of money to grow and harvest and relies on the weather to produce high yields.

The answers to food management  are found in the bible, we as believers working in any aspect of farming or wholesale, really need to be wise in planning ahead as Joseph.  Genesis 41,  John 15:1-10.

War. Part-Three.

Human Nature.

People cannot help anger and hateing each other, they find excuses to start a row over nothing. on a domestic scale this can become bad enough, but on larger global scale it will lead to war and conflicts. A third party can help to resolve any situation, but then the hardness of our stubborness sets in to block off the mediation.

Wars are caused by the inherent Sin and selfishness of the human heart a condition that does not even leave those who have faith in God. But to have faith in God and a personal relationship does help us to see our own faults and ask the lord to help us, intead of ignoring or denying in the first place.

Genesis 6:5,  Deuteronomy 29:19,  Proverbs 6:17-19,  Matthew 15:18-19,  Mark 7:21-23.

Terroism. Part-Two.

‘My/Our Agenda!

Everyone has their own agenda, but we have no right to force on others? Terrorist new and old don’t play by the rules of engagement, they have their rules to use fear and intimidation to get what they want. In 1605 Guy Fawkes had the Democratic ability to place out his beliefs, but instead he chose to use violence to kill the king, Parliament and quite a large number of innocent people in the wooden city.

The bible tells us that when the Jews were able to return to the land by the Emperor of Babylonia, they came under attack from their old enemies.  We do so much need to have a faith in god today, because of people trying to use violence to push their multinational world vision, through terrorism.

Nehemiah 2:10, 19,   4:7-8,  Psalm 5:5-6,  21:7,   Proverbs 29:10-11,   Matthew 10:26,  28,  31.

Terrorism. Part-One.

Freedom Fighters or Murderers?

Modern terrorism is not really much different from anything that was done in the past. It depends which country that we will choose to look at first. In the UK it has been Irish based terror, which has and continues now for over 200 years. It depends which side of the fence that you might be on?

Europe has and many other countries around the world suffer terribly from these kinds of attacks almost on a daily basis. Everyone will point their finger at Israel in how its treats the Palestinians and yet since 7/7 Britain now faces home grown terror from its own Muslim population.

The bible tells all the time about war and murder, most of the books in the Old Testament tell of how Israel had to fight the nations around them. But God is very clear about the differences of a war and murder.   Exodus 20:1-26, The Book of Joshua.

The Wicked Heart. Part-Two.

Deception, Lies, Bribery.

Humanity has advanced so far now that it can practice deception and trick each other into getting what it wants. We are very advanced in the natural order.

Yet we are filled with trickery and bribery to put others into a position of servitude through these methods. There is an answer to our condition of failure and this is only found by a mental change of attitude towards God.

Exodus 23:8,  Deuteronomy 27:25,  Isaiah 5:22-23.

The Wicked Heart. Part-One.

Self, Anger, Temper.

We humans, advanced as we claim to be always find excuses for our failed condition to say ‘Why does God not stop wars and famine, terrorism, disease?

It is really us who have brought these problems upon ourselves, people bigotry, anger, dislikes, selfish motives, greed, envy and does not the list go on and on.

Yet every day God is telling us to do the right things, but we have short minds and vision. We only believe what we want to see.  Isaiah 44:24-25,  Galatians 5:19-21,  1 John 1:7-10.

Born Killers. Part-Two.

‘A better way.;

There is a better way, first we need to see that we are all born Sinners. Then we need to have the choice of a change of mind and heart, even the most evil and cruel people alive can do that. Some will not be able on their own, but then that is why God gives believers the vehicle of prayer for them.

Don’t worry, evil and depraved people will not get into Heaven on the easy ticket. Because they will have to come to Jesus the same way as we did.  Psalm 58:5,   Romans 6:12-14,  Revelation 21:8,  22:15.
