‘Out Pouring.

The Holy Spirit of God.

After Jesus had ascended back into heaven, as he had promised the Holy Spirit/Ghost was poured out in Jerusalem on the Temple mount and those early followers of the Way, were empowered to serve God.  Acts 2,  Joel 2:28-32.

It is only those of us who have confessed that Jesus died and rose again from the dead who receive the Holy Spirit to help us daily walk in faith with Jesus. We have to believe, because without God our Father and Jesus our Lord we have no hope to face the crises of daily life.  2 Corinthians 6:6, 1 John 1:20.

Ascension and Return.

Leaving.

Jesus had to leave the earth after forty days so that the promised Holy Spirit could be poured out on the believers. But this was not the end, for as you see Him go, he will return again.  Mark 16:19-20.

We tend to forget about the return of the Lord, some refer to it as the End Times, others the Day of Judgement. But their is one thing we can be sure about Jesus will return.  Luke 24:49-53,  Act 1:9-11.

On the road to Emmaus. Part-Two.

Jesus had to die.

These men were followers of Jesus, but they had misunderstood what the scriptures (Tanakh/Old Testament) was telling them. As we have already seen they wanted a liberator.

Jesus came to deliver us from our sins, all who have, are and will place their trust in him by faith will be saved.  Luke 24:25-27.

On the Road to Emmaus. Part-One.

Travellers.’

All of us are on a journey through life, many of us know were we started from but we do not really know were we are going. These two men were going home from Jerusalem to Emmaus, walking about 7 miles when Jesus met them. but they were not aware of Him?  Luke 24:13-35, Mark 16:12-13.

As we see as the story progresses that they had a good understanding of all the key events over the last few days, but their hearts were not right. They wanted Jesus to be the great prophet and the deliverer of Israel from Roman occupation. Luke 24:19, 21.

What are we looking for Jesus to be for us today? Many people say that God is a God of Love and they live their lives to suite their wants and pleasures, while at the same time not believing in who He really is.

Easter, Part-Five.

The Resurrection.

Jesus always was telling His disciples that he would be handed up to evil men, killed and rise from the dead on the third day. That was the ultimate purpose of his coming. The baby born of the virgin Mary in the cattle through now was on the cross/stake bleeding to death.

He died and was buried in another mans tomb, but he has now arisen and dearth has be conquered, but only for those who have, will and do place their trust, hope in him.  Matthew 27:57-61,  Mark 15:42-47,  Luke 24:1-12,  John 20:1-10.

Easter. Part-Four.

‘Nailed.’

They took him out and beat Him, the Roman soldiers mocked Him, then they forced Him to carry His stake to the place outside the city of Jerusalem. There He was nailed to a cross bar and lifted up on to the stake, one either side of Him were two murderers, thieves. They even joined in the mockery, but one recanted and asked the Messiah for mercy.  Matthew 27:27-56,   Mark 15:16-41,   Luke 23:26-49,   John 19:16-37.

Jesus promised he would be in glory with Him soon.  Luke 23:42-43.

Where will you be this Easter as you eat your chocolate eggs? Will you continue to join the crowds mocking and laughing at Jesus? Will you continue in your empty traditions of even going to ‘Church?’

Or will you finally see yourself, change your attitudes and walk with Him, not looking back?  John 6:29,   Romans 10:9,   Amos 5:4.

Easter. Part-Three.

‘Veritas.’

Pilate said to Jesus ‘What is truth?  Like Pilate when we look around the world and the society that we live in today, it is still hard to find the truth? We cannot be even sure if the media is reporting the truth about Syria, wither our elected politicians are truthful, etc.  John 18:35-38.

Pilate wanted so much to release Jesus, because he knew it was all a sham, but the religious leaders put him in a position that tied his hands.  Mark 15:10,   John 19:12,  15.

This is a place that we do not want to allow ourselves to get into, wither you are in teaching, local government, ministry or just what ever place of work or life.

Easter. Part-Two.

Failure.

Many of the Disciples of Jesus believed that they could follow Him any where. Peter boasted about it, but Jesus warned him that he would deny him three times.  Matthew 26:31-35,  Mark 14:27-31,  Luke 22:31-34,  John 13:36-38.

We can all make claims to what we believe in, but when it has to cost us something, fear of man sets in and we all run away. Mark 14:50-51, John 18:15-18, 25-27.

This was just the beginning of a series of events that are part of the Easter Story, all of this was in the will of God.

Easter. Part-One.

Betrayal.

Easter is not just what it has become, about bunny’s, chicks and chocolate eggs.

Easter is about the death of Jesus the one and only Son of God, for the eternal Salvation of all who have and are and will place their trust in Him by faith.

Today we live in an anti-God society, full of selfishness and pleasure, religion is being pushed aside, especially ‘Christianity.’ In the failure of others (Sin) we have found a way to make excuses, but this only to cover up our own failings.

Judas was an idealist, he wanted Jesus to be that great promised King, who would rid the Roman rule of Israel and restore the Kingdom. But he was also a pilfering thief. His motives done for money, he believed would reveal divine power at work. But he was blinded by his own logic and greed.

Matthew 10:4,  Luke 22:3,  John 6:71,  13:29,  18:2.

Question the System. Part-Three.

Dictatorships and Kingdoms.

The world today is still full of unaccountable Royal families and self appointed Dictators. These are many family lines in world leadership, some are obvious such as North-Korea, but others are not so. In these countries the voices of freedom and self-expression are crushed by the State or the System. Leaders and their cronies fear their own people.

Paranoia has set in and the fear of God is really what bothers them, because they know that to believe in something apart from them will bring them down to nothing.  The Bile tells us about many such great historical leaders throughout human history, who have sought to make a name for themselves, but they all came to and end by the little people.   Exodus 14:21-31,   Daniel 3:1-12,   Matthew 2:3-4,  7-8,  16-18,   Acts 5:26-28,   Revelation chapter 18.
