Sexuality. Part-Two.

Jesus.

Many proponents of same sex marriage, who claim to be ‘Christians say ‘that Jesus in his ministry never spoke about homosexuality, but rather that we should practice love and not Judge others or each other.’

But they are wrong, because Jesus does speak about the Sin and the ultimate fate of those who practice it. If we claim to have a faith in Jesus and a relationship with God, we must adhere to His teaching in the bible. The bible says many things, such as not stealing or sleeping with another man wife. some of the language used is very graphic.

But god wants the best for us, if we are left to our devices, choices and selfishness. Then we end up in disaster. The bible is full of such accounts. With the Lord he pointed out a situation,. Later the Disciples and Apostles lead and inspired by the Holy Spirit within them wrote further instructions to the believers.

Matthew 10:15,  11:24,  2 Peter 2:6-8, (Genesis 19:5, 24-25),  Jude 7.

On the road to Emmaus. Part-Two.

Jesus had to die.

These men were followers of Jesus, but they had misunderstood what the scriptures (Tanakh/Old Testament) was telling them. As we have already seen they wanted a liberator.

Jesus came to deliver us from our sins, all who have, are and will place their trust in him by faith will be saved.  Luke 24:25-27.

On the Road to Emmaus. Part-One.

Travellers.’

All of us are on a journey through life, many of us know were we started from but we do not really know were we are going. These two men were going home from Jerusalem to Emmaus, walking about 7 miles when Jesus met them. but they were not aware of Him?  Luke 24:13-35, Mark 16:12-13.

As we see as the story progresses that they had a good understanding of all the key events over the last few days, but their hearts were not right. They wanted Jesus to be the great prophet and the deliverer of Israel from Roman occupation. Luke 24:19, 21.

What are we looking for Jesus to be for us today? Many people say that God is a God of Love and they live their lives to suite their wants and pleasures, while at the same time not believing in who He really is.

Easter, Part-Five.

The Resurrection.

Jesus always was telling His disciples that he would be handed up to evil men, killed and rise from the dead on the third day. That was the ultimate purpose of his coming. The baby born of the virgin Mary in the cattle through now was on the cross/stake bleeding to death.

He died and was buried in another mans tomb, but he has now arisen and dearth has be conquered, but only for those who have, will and do place their trust, hope in him.  Matthew 27:57-61,  Mark 15:42-47,  Luke 24:1-12,  John 20:1-10.

Easter. Part-Three.

‘Veritas.’

Pilate said to Jesus ‘What is truth?  Like Pilate when we look around the world and the society that we live in today, it is still hard to find the truth? We cannot be even sure if the media is reporting the truth about Syria, wither our elected politicians are truthful, etc.  John 18:35-38.

Pilate wanted so much to release Jesus, because he knew it was all a sham, but the religious leaders put him in a position that tied his hands.  Mark 15:10,   John 19:12,  15.

This is a place that we do not want to allow ourselves to get into, wither you are in teaching, local government, ministry or just what ever place of work or life.

Easter. Part-Two.

Failure.

Many of the Disciples of Jesus believed that they could follow Him any where. Peter boasted about it, but Jesus warned him that he would deny him three times.  Matthew 26:31-35,  Mark 14:27-31,  Luke 22:31-34,  John 13:36-38.

We can all make claims to what we believe in, but when it has to cost us something, fear of man sets in and we all run away. Mark 14:50-51, John 18:15-18, 25-27.

This was just the beginning of a series of events that are part of the Easter Story, all of this was in the will of God.

Love and Marriage. Part-Three.

‘Lust is not love.’

Many relationships are built on a false foundation, that of Lust. When problems arise there is no relationship, friendship or desire for partnership, because it was all based on sexual pleasure, fancy and self centered motivation. Lust is about getting ‘what I want and by force if necessary.’

Lust outside marriage as well as within, ultimately leads to disaster. In marriage many find it hard to push one, so they look for the greener field over the hill’. Later after all the pain and the hurt of marital breakdown and divorce, they find that field was the same as the one they left.

Jesus had much to say about marriage, lust and divorce.  Matthew 5:31-32,  Exodus 2o:17,  21:7-11, Deuteronomy 21:10-14,  24:1-4, Proverbs 6:24-25, 1 Corinthians 10:6-7, Ephesians 4:22.

Love and Marriage. Part-One.

Marriage.

God ordained for man and woman marriage. Many people today believe that marriage is for everyone and anything?  But if we claim to believe and follow the teachings of the bible, we will see that this is not so.

In a few days time loads of people will long for that Valentine card and will spend and enjoy Saint Valentines day, as a time of sharing love and romance. Couples single and married will come together to enjoy each others company, but the end result must be a relationship in union with God. Genesis 2:18-24,  Matthew 19:4-6,  Mark 10:6-9.

Everything that is outside this union of Covenant of Marriage is from the selfishness of the heart.

Virgin birth. Part-Five.

The Magi/ three Kings.

The wise men arrived in Jerusalem, after traveling from the east following the star for one year. This is much different from the traditional images that we have of them at the nativity. They came to acknowledge the Messiah of the Jews, the new born King of Israel and the Savior of the Gentile world.

Matthew 2:1-2, 10-11.

Meanwhile paranoid Herod had other plans for killing all the male boys up to two years old.  Matthew 2:16-18.

That is what weak leaders do, when they loose control they enforce terror. Believe fear will control the multitudes.

Virgin Birth. Part-Three.

‘Don’t be afraid!

We are twice told in the story of the birth of Jesus by Angels not to be afraid. It is a natural thing for humans to be afraid, when something happens that we do not understand. Joseph was perplexed, confused, when he found his wife to be Mary pregnant. Matthew 1:20.  The Shepherds out in the fields were startled by the appearance of Angels in the middle of the night.  Luke 2:8-20.

But look at the contrast here to the paranoid king Herod, what did he do with his fear?  Matthew 1:16-18,  Jeremiah 31:15.
