The NEW LIFE?

Remembering Jesus!

It is tough to be a follower of Jesus and that is perhaps why many give up and waste their time sitting in fellowship doing nothing or just praying?

This time of the year Easter should be one of reflection to see what Jesus has done for us and the reasons and cost behind it all, that we are saved, reconciled, loved from the coming wrath of God Almighty!

So as we enjoy our Easter eggs let us remember and get back on track with Him in serving within and sharing outside?

John 3:3, 16, 4:23-24, Romans 3:25-26, 5:8-11. Hebrews 4:12-23, 9:26-27, Jude 1:6-7.

Twenty Years after 9/11!

Over four-hundred of the 3000 who died were British.

Many families of British troops lost in the last twenty years in Afghanistan, have said what was it for?

Well the U.S. bombed the Tora-Bora complex and destroyed the largest terror base ever, they eventually found Bin-Laden in Pakistan and great advantages were made in fields that the media did not cover!

What is our response to be to the worst known one off terror event in human history, to remember the British financiers and visitors who died in the twin towers on that day and the 400+ soldiers who died in Afghanistan doing their job!

One does not join an army to choose where they go, one goes were they are told and so we who have faith are armed for the warfare that we must face daily both in the physical and Spiritual and endure it?

More believers have died in the past twenty years world-wide for just believing in Jesus, than perhaps all the conflicts put together and we will eventually meet all of them when we get home to Heaven!

Joshua 6:5, 20, Luke 7:8, Acts 23:31, 2 Corinthians 10:4, Ephesians 6:11-17, 2 Timothy 2:4.

Moving on with God?

Between the Lines!

As believers we know that we have been saved by the blood of Jesus and the cost of that precious Salvation? Psalm 129:3, 1 Peter 2:24.

Now it is time to understand that we cannot do without the power that is promised to us from God, in the giving of the Holy Spirit that turns that heart of stone within us to His heart of flesh!

Ezekiel 11:19, 36:26-27.

What more is there now, but to serve, to endure, maybe even to die and have no fear of anything except God Himself?

Romans 12:7, 2 Timothy 4:5, Revelation 2:10-11.

BREXIT.

Independent Spirit.

Britain is not like the rest of Europe, it is the largest island and had the largest Empire the planet has ever seen in human recorded history. For the last 1000 years it has been a defiant nation marking out its own course and influences near and far.

It was the first country to proclaim the English reformation back in the fourteenth century by John Wycliffe, who had a large influence on many later Christian movements across Europe.

Since 1645 the Protestant protectorate has maintained Christian freedoms, that no other nation apart from the United States of America could claim.

Many people, such as younger people in the U.K. today are upset by this turn of events? But is us older folks who remember from experience or from our parents, who had to go through two world wars in the last century based in Europe and Germany.

1 Kings 12:8-14,  Jeremiah 5:3,  Acts 7:35,  Romans 1:28.

URBANIZATION. TWO.

Great Cities.

Today we might say Moscow, New York, Shanghai, Paris and London and there a quite a few more?  We remember them because they are the seats of great power, freedoms, liberation, culture, science, all the attributes of human achievment!

The bible tells us to about the great cities that hold dark powers, these are the ones that oppress humanity, who murder believers in the past,  today and the future.

God tells us through His word how he has destroyed those early ones with water and how one new one will be for all who had faith in Jesus, after the whore is destroyed.

Genesis 4:17,  Luke 17:27-28,  Revelation 14:8,  21:2.

Christmas. Part-Three.

For the lonely.

Many people make a point to miss out on ‘Christmas, because it is not a time for them due to lonliness and the feelings of rejection. That is one of the reasons the angels appeared to the shephers in the fields, the other that the ancestor of Jesus was King Davis. David started out as a shepherd.

This Christmas our challenge should be to look out for the lonley in community and Church, even within our own family groups. Christmas is a time to put aside our differences. Charles Dickens ‘Christmas Carol has old Scrooge being welcomed by his nephew.

1 Samuel 16:7-13,    Luke 2:8-20.
